Description
Who’s to say there are not worlds out there where advanced races visit each other in peace? With this in mind I have painted a craft-height view of one of these worlds, showing the large docking towers reaching into the Stratosphere. These structures surrounded by the immense civilisation of this distant world. This image will be part of my update to VA in the next week or so.
Original size - 5k wide
~20 hours or so.
Painted in Photoshop with a Wacom Intous 2 Tablet.
Larger version below, crikey it's been a long time since I've had time to paint a VA piece.

Concept:Very strong |
Technical Skill:Strong |
Impact/impression:Very strong |
Pros:Terrific lighting now the sun seems to light up the right hand side of the image. Great detail with futureistic structures and their lights!
Cons:I wish the building structures in the background are not so blurred out and blended into the sunset/sunrise.
Overall opinion/feedback:I love it~ love the feel and how futuristic it is! Great work - keep it up!

Concept:Average |
Technical Skill:Very strong |
Impact/impression:Strong |
Pros:Amazing atmosphere
Very cool colours Sweeping scope and impression of scale Impressive technique, as always Great clouds! Cons:Not sure about the "arch" at the top - is the viewer meant to be inside a building or something, or is this just a nearby structure. That's unclear to me.
The blue lights are perhaps too "bitty" - brighter areas rather than individual lights might help bring the foreground together Overall opinion/feedback:I always feel a little uncomfortable crit'ing the work of artists better than myself. Excellent as usual, just a couple of minor things I'm not keen on +9/10

to be honest though, the lighting in this seems a bit fake and moreso than your other works. the red hue going alllll the way towards the overhanging structure in the foreground just doesnt seem real. the light color on the streets, doesnt seem real.
it's been the same stuff for years now, when will you expand and finetune everything?? perhaps developing an entire planet's grid would be awesome and a nice branch to explore. doing a whole series on one planet that would cover the entire surface as well as, atmosphere and underground coordinated. something like that....

Really like this piece, the city is amazing, the amount of detail you put into it in 20 hours astounds me. Just out of curiosity, how much do you charge for a piece like this...as i have begun making a computer game of my own with a small team. I think having a painting by yourself would be perfect for a loading screen or something. Messege me if you have the time, thanks buddy.
