Description

This is one of my older pieces. Depicting how a simple sunrise on a far away world could appear. The idea was to give a feeling of an Earth-like, tranquil vista with the exception of the binary sun rise and enormous gas giant in the sky.

Two larger images are linked.

Very cool. I've always liked your sense of lighting. I especially like the idea of having a ringed planet near enough to be visible through the stratosphere.

Excellent as usual. I really appreciate the close-up version you have there...it really shows your attention to detail. It also show me I'm not the only crazy one focusing on the little touches that can really sell a piece!! Nice job Gary.

Pure tranquility :) - if only you were in charge of designing our cityscapes here on earth (then more people would enjoy life in the city ;))

A really great piece. The composition is a bit to tight I think , with the city cut in half that way.For me, it's more like a really calm sunset with a really beautyfull bridge and marvelous lighting.

Your artwork is dangerous... It pulls at the heartstring that is attached to our hopes for the future of human potential, and it is so easy to get sucked into these amazing images to the point that we simply want to continue exploring your world rather than our own. Thank you.

It looks so smooth Ô_Ô Your works remind me a lot of the matte paintings or production artwork of the old Skywalker team, the same sort of atmosphere :)

it's really interesting how you intertwine sci-fi and fantasy. your landscapes are always so magnificent, and the futuristic buildings... it always makes me wonder... what would a futuristic city be doing in a place like that? but i suppose that's why i like it so much. great job.
ps-gratz on elite status. i told you that you could do it :)

Thank you very much everybody who has taken time to comment and vote on this image. I've been so busy lately that I've not had chance to create any new pieces to put online, that's why I posted this one. I'm really pleased that the picture has a few people wondering about what it would be like there - that's the inspiration I used to paint it. :)

I don't think anything else can suit the title any better. It seems like that bridge can span across dreams...cheezy, but true. :)

Heartbreakingly beautiful -- it makes me wish I was in that scene. This is something I don't often experience with paintings.

Fantastic, as all your scenes. :)
