Description

Rough concept.

I don’t spend enough time doing rough sketching – so I thought I’d do this. The image really started out as a speed-paint, but I got carried away and spent about 4 or 5 hours on it, so it’s not really one of those now…

Kind of loose and unfinished, for me anyway.

Hand drawn in PS7.
Original resolution -2792x2750.

WOW!!! That's just "cool"!! Awesome perspective, real nice feel and look. The sculptures are really different. It's so nice to see images of things other then fantasy, space, and stuff. Great job yet again!! I can't wait to see more!

Damn I love skilled artisans. What can I say that has not been said. Lighting and atmospere...GREAT. Perspective ...Excellent. The only thing I have a question about is the angle of the stairs on the left in conjunction with the perspective of the line of the tiles coming from the right

Whee, lovely! :) Lighting is excellently rendered (as always..!) and very atmospheric. Man, it's tough finding something constructive to say...the only thing I noted is the transition of the red carpet to the floor in the lit areas seems a little blurred; I believe the edges might work better crisp in those cases. But you may have intended it that way. Gorgeous work on the sculptures, btw! *_*

Thanks for the comments everybody! I should really do more more like this, the problem I have is I always end up putting LOADS of extra work in to make it a finished piece. It's a nice break to not draw the thing into oblivion!

Great work! I hear ya on the bit about drawing a piece into oblivion... very nice sketch. I love your use of perspective, it's prevalent in all your pieces and, without exception, exceptionally done! :)

I must say that I am very impressed. This is the kind of talent I strive to have, yet can't quite seem to get. This does nothing but inspire me to try harder. Thank you.

I thought I commented on this piece already.. Hrm.

anyways.. I do hope that museum exsists (or will, one day..) .. and what struck me as most interesting, is that you only really seem to use just 2 colors,b ut it seems like so many more are present..

Ayeee!! New Antifan work! Whee!

Dude. Dude, seriously, I would LOVE to work with you sometime. You paint backgrounds like I'd kill to be able to. *frets* I wish I could do this as well. It's awesome. The colour scheme is perfect and the whole thing is just... captivating... and it's not easy for environments to hold my interest for this long.

Wow, this is shockingly good - the lighting is incredible, and the feeling of vastness is amazing. I'd like to visit such a place (though the sculptures themselves leave a little to be desired). Great work!

This is great - it reminds me of the great work of Ralph McQuarrie and Doug Chiang - are these guys an influence? You have a different style though - what inspired you to paint this?

Thanks

WOW!! I love it! If this is rough & unfinished to u... I'd like to see one that isn't with this kind of theme... If I had the money I'd buy it straight away.

Keep up the goodwork!

As I said before it's awsome... I have it as my bakground 4 my Comp. As I looked @ it today I thot... "I'd like to see the 3rd one down enlarged... So its a request... & I am not worthy to give u request so its more like a suggestion...

Very nice lighting. That museums artwork even looks like something that would be there. 7/7

Avatar Gigoman

Hmm... It just seems to have a small amount of unfinished-ness to it. About now (If I had your talent) my perfectionist side would kick in and I would make sure every single pixel is perfect (I'm exaggerating, but not by too much). and yet, It has a sense of... something that makes it fantastic anyway. HOW DO YOU DO IT?
